Some fibers accept dye at lower temperatures than others. if a variety of fibers are in one dye pot, the fibers that require higher temperatures to dye may not have as much color as other fibers. this is because the fiber that dyes at a lower temperature takes up most of or all the dye before reaching a high enough heat for the other fiber to dye.
