Isn't it possible that some of these problems did not exist for Philo and his teachers? If so, how far should we rely on the account of figur in Ad Herennium in the interpretation of a Greek author? "Flowery Prose" and "Fully Equipped Argument" The style of a piece of discourse can contribute greatly to the impact of the arguments. Of this, any reader of Demosthenes or Cicero will be aware.
